Adam Nagourney writing for The New York Times Politics Blog reported:
"Later today, the [Obama] campaign is set to announce the hiring of Stephanie Cutter, a longtime Democratic strategist who worked as Senator John Kerry’s communications director in 2004, as chief of staff to Mrs. Obama. Ms. Cutter is scheduled to begin soon, with the first task of re-crafting the image of Mrs. Obama, who has come under intense criticism by Republicans and even some Democratic rivals. She also will lead a war room to fight attacks against Mrs. Obama".
Political makeovers have always seemed repulsive. It isn’t as if Ms. Cutter was hired to go shopping with Michelle for some new summer outfits… Her purpose is to create the false illusion that Michelle Obama is something that she in fact is not: likeable.
Get ready to be hoodwinked. Get ready to see Michelle cooking up some of her grandma’s favorite recipes with Martha Stewart, hammering some nails with Jimmy Carter in the flood-ravaged Midwest, or worse still, holding some poor dying AIDS baby with Oprah so the rest of us can be sure to see Michelle is "filled with compassion". Amazing to think of the gall one must possess to exploit the helpless in order to further one’s own political career… but we shall see.
The late, great Ann Richards, perhaps said it best:
"You can put lipstick on a hog and call her ‘Monique’, but she’s still a pig!"
So eloquently spoken.

Hey, where did she get the big fork? I thought she had only 4 spoons!

I find it ironic the Obama’s biggest detraction might be a strong, well-educated, opinionated woman! Sound like any other woman we know? Karma’s a bitch, ain’t it?
